Oak Bluffs School Counseling Department
School counseling services at the Oak Bluffs School are available to help students, guardians, and teachers develop positive learning experiences. The program consists of a variety of services and activities to include individual and group counseling, skills-based small group learning, guardian and teacher consultation, information services, referral assistance to community programs and services, and student progress monitoring. Consultations with a school counselor are scheduled based on student needs, or upon request by a guardian or teacher.
Both counselors at the Oak Bluffs School are licensed professionals with training and experience with counseling theories and practice, wellness of school-aged children, family systems, and teaching school-based skills that support students’ social, emotional and behavioral well-being. School counselors can assist in identifying and accessing clinical mental health services when needed.
