Good afternoon OB Parents and Families,
We have had a very exciting and successful week. Throughout this week I have been impressed by our student’s engagement and the focused instruction I have witnessed as I visited various classrooms in our school. As I witness the dedication to learning and personal growth that I observed, from both students and staff, I continue to be in awe of the commitment toward excellence that the Oak Bluffs School Community displays. The Oak Bluffs School truly is a special place to be. This sentiment resonated at this weeks Community Meeting which was lead by our Constitutional Congress.

Participating in our Continental Congress’ culminating event, which represented weeks of work, was truly an awe inspiring and emotional experience.  As I stated at Community Meeting, witnessing our Student Council read books with themes related to habits of goodness, habits of kindness, and citizenship to our Kindergarten through sixth grade (K-6) student representatives was amazing.  The pride I felt as I witness the students engaged in the discussions that centered around these themes and how we can continue to instill similar values to our OB school community was a highlight in my career in education. I am impressed by the overall character of the members of our student body and their dedication to making the Oak Bluffs School Community the best place it can be. I strongly believe that if we continue our dedication toward building on our Responsive Classroom philosophy we can be assured that our students will develop into the caring citizen that will make our community and the world a better place to be. I am excited to continue this work with the help, commitment, and engagement of the students, staff, families, and the Oak Bluffs community. This heartfelt commitment make me extremely “Proud to Be From OB!!”

Thank you for your continued support. Have a pleasant weekend.
Respectfully,
Dr. Megan Farrell
