| This year the Oak Bluffs School is participating in NOAA’s “Students for Zero Waste Week.” Our school will be joining a national movement the week of April 9-13th as we investigate ways to find many practical solutions for achieving zero waste. Our focus this year is to make our cafeteria more sustainable by reducing plastic waste, and in particular plastic utensils. We are holding a metal utensil drive to replace our cafeteria supply. In addition, older students will be using the metal utensils to engineer travel kits to prevent needing to use plastic at restaurants or while on the road. Please donate any extra metal spoons or forks to this worthy cause. There will be a donation box in the office, or your child can give to their homeroom teacher. Thank you for helping us reduce plastic waste at our school! |
