Hello! My name is Julia Sayre and I’m a current 8th grader. This year I was chosen to be the Project 351 ambassador, representing Oak Bluffs. Project 351 is a non-profit organization which promotes 8th graders all across the state to learn leadership and how to serve their community in many different ways. There is one person selected from each of the 351 towns and cities in Massachusetts every year. Being an ambassador, I have met amazing people, and already learned many useful skills. Part of Project 351 is an act of service called Spring Service. Spring Service is a time when all of the ambassadors across Massachusetts take part in a clothing drive in their town to support Cradles to Crayons. Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization, that provides children with their daily necessities. Clothing, shoes, jackets, and more include some examples. As an ambassador I am honored to host Spring Service right here in the Oak Bluffs School! If any of you remember the toy drive that I organized in December, the concept will be similar. There are going to be several boxes in the lobby, to the right of the hallway doors. The items that will be collected have to be gently used or new. Clothing youth sizes 0-20, and adult clothing sizes small-medium will be gladly accepted, as well as shoes youth sizes 0-13, and adult sizes 1-10. Brand new socks, pajamas, and packs of underwear are also much appreciated. The boxes will be in the lobby between Monday March 25 to April 5. I hope that you are able to donate any of the articles of clothing and shoes I mentioned above. When you donate, you will be positively impacting a child’s daily life for the better. Thank you!
