As we approach the cold and flu season I would like to remind everyone a few simple ways we can all partake in to help prevent the spread of GERMS!
You also may have heard about the Enterovirus D68 that has been hitting the Midwest and now moving to the Eastern states such as Pennsylvania & New York. Thus far, there have not been any reported cases in Massachusetts.
Our most vulnerable population are the school age population and younger mainly because they most likely have not been exposed to this virus. Severe respiratory problems have been seen with kids that have Asthma.
In general, Enterovirus signs and symptoms like the flu presents with fever, cough, body aches, stuffy, and runny nose. There is no vaccine for the Enterovirus.
FLU’S, COLD’S, ENTEROVIRUS - WHAT CAN WE DO???
*Wash your hands often (soap and water is best)
*Teach kids to cover their coughs and sneezes
*Avoid touching your face especially with unwashed hands
*Stay home when you are sick
