Horseshoe Crab Survey Training
Sat, May 02, 2015 9:00 am - 11:00 am Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, Edgartown Adult Free
Does being a sleuth intrigue you? Do you need a reason to walk the beach before the high season? Have you ever experienced the beauty of the beach late at night? This very important project needs dozens of volunteers to look for spawning crabs or evidence that they were there nesting the previous night. If you have yet to participate in a beach survey, please consider joining in this year - you are needed! Pass the word; invite friends.
Surveys are conducted on days surrounding the New and Full Moons of May and June. Training will include time indoors and walking on the beach at the swash line. Please dress for the weather and wear water-resistant boots or shoes.
