December 5-11 is Hour of Code Week. This is an annual global campaign to introduce 21st century critical thinking and problem solving skills to our students that our school has participated in since its inception. All Instructional Technology classes (K-8) will participate in an Hour of Code using a variety of fun and engaging activities that introduce computer programming. All the projects that I will be using next week support the Common Core Standards and Computer Science Teachers Association K-12 Standards.
Younger students will focus on solving simple coding puzzles. Older students will be able to choose from a variety of coding projects. All week long, students will engage in fun, collaborative activities; and best of all, they will learn key programming concepts that our program will build on in the future.
