2018 After School Clubs
Session I
Session I list of non-athletic After School Clubs being offered by the Oak Bluffs School. Sessions are 10 classes taking place between October 15th and January 15th.
- Clubs will run from 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. (unless noted differently)
- Snack - Students should bring a snack
- Students must be picked up at 3:45 pm in the lobby.
- An After School Activity Permission Slip must be signed to participate in any club.
- Club sign up is first come, first served. Students may sign up for no more than 2 clubs to allow all students an opportunity.
- Clubs DO NOT MEET on half-days (10/23, 10/25 and 10/29)
Food Processors
Mission: To get club members interested in cooking, practicing culinary arts skills, building confidence in the kitchen, and connecting food and wellness through the use of natural ingredients and simple recipes.
Wednesdays - 2:45 pm-3:45 pm in Home Ec room
Grades 5 & 6
Space Available: 10 students
Choice Club
Join your friends in our new after school Choice Club! Each week, students will get a choice of two activities to do with their friends. Some activities may include a nature walk, craft, building with legos or if it’s really nice out extra play time outside among other options! Please send students with an extra snack for after school.

Games Club
Board, card and themed games with Ms. Macias.
Students of all skill levels welcome. Grades 2-8

Join your fellow crafters, no prior knowledge required.

Join our Chess Club with Mr. Brush. Students of all skill levels welcome. Grades 4-8

Writing Club
Join the new Writing Club with Ms. Nebel and help create our first ever student newspaper, written by and for our students. Take photos, write articles, learn about design and layout. Students of all skill levels welcome. Grades 5-8
Space Available: 6 students Once we have 6 students signed up, we will schedule meeting details.
Code Club with Ms. Macias
ALL CODERS OF ALL LEVELS are welcome! Programs will be available for newbies, intermediate coders, and those who are seeking a challenge.
Class will meet on Mondays beginning 10/15 in the tech lab.
Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8
Space Available: 20 class limit. Come one, come all!
LEGO Robotics Club with Ms. Dorr (GRADES 4-6)
Learn how to build and code with the LEGO EV3 Robotics kits. Students will design robots to solve challenges and learn from other’s designs. We will be launching catapults, doing SUGO robotics, and designing robots to collect ping-pong balls faster than the other team. We hope to build a fun & collaborative environment to learn from each other and have a lot of fun!
Times & Dates: Monday from 3:00-4:00 (students can arrive early to set up)
Location: Meet in the MakerSpace Room
Space Available: 18 students
Grades: 4th, 5th & 6th grade students only
VEX Robotics Competition Team
Students will create small teams to build robots to compete in VEX Robotic Competitions on the Cape with other teams from Mashpee, Barnstable, Sandwich, etc. Interested students will visit the first VEX Scrimmage on the Cape on Oct 25th, and then begin to meet to build a robot to compete in future events.
