When spring arrives here in the library you can always notice how the 2nd graders have learned how joyful it is to settle in with a good chapter book. They have found book series they really like and have become dear friends with the characters and are eager to find more.
Our younger students have learned how comforting it is to snuggle up for a good story. We are blessed all year long to have volunteer readers come in for "trading times" and read great books to great kids!! Our 1st graders are eager to follow along with a reader and see the words on a page. They are making connections and find great excitement in learning to read words!!
Our older students have found new independence in learning how to search their own books on the library catalog. Being able to search subjects for research or keywords they are interested in for finding fiction books. It is always fun to watch the students be able to search a book and have the skills to locate it on the library shelves.
Our library is a wonderful space! Lots and lots of exciting things happen here. The learning is disguised in fun stuff and it is such a wonderful thing to be a part of! Happy Spring!
