With the start of a new school year it always brings such a freshness and a clarity to wanting to DO (and BE) our best! We see this first hand in the library as we begin to talk about Reading Goals for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders. The excitement and the enthusiasm of setting ones sights high and having such hope for becoming a stronger reader, a more confident student. Seeing the genuine desire for our OB students to grow as better people and good citizens of our community, it is just wonderful!
We are doing great things here at the Oak Bluffs School. We are helping kids be both great learners and great leaders. They work hard at their academics but work equally as hard at being kind and caring people. They are thriving in learning important life skills. Learning to have empathy for each other and to be strong and confident in themselves and in their relationships with peers and teachers.
The definition of 'COMMUNITY' is: a unified body of individuals. Here in our library we foster the values of our school community ~ the library is the social hub of our school ~ teachers and students come together in many different ways in our space. Being together in positive ways builds unity and we welcome that here in the Oak Bluffs School Library.
Together we will learn, we will play, and we will build upon our strengths each year. Soon our Reading Goals will be hung up around the library to proudly display our hopes as individuals. But our hopes and dreams together are displayed throughout the building in the faces of happy young students and engaged and dedicated staff. We are ready for a wonderful year here in OB!
